Wilson Rides

Providing our aging population with transportation to errands, appointments and church.

Wilson County is changing the face of aging with services to reduce isolation and support the active lifestyles of our older adults. Wilson County, TN has three cities – Mount Juliet, Lebanon, and Watertown. There is no public transportation and only one cab company that serves mainly Lebanon, TN. In 2019, 23,195 adults in Wilson County were over the age of 65, 20% lived alone and 6% of these households did not have a car. Tennessee ranks 49th for support of family caregivers and it is estimated that the population of Tennesseans 65+ will increase by 50% between 2019 and 2030 with an increase in Wilson County alone of 44%.

Wilson Rides, founded by Providence Church member Gaye Lynn Wilson, seeks to preserve the quality of life and foster a connected community for older adults in Wilson County by providing safe transportation to local destinations. Providence Church is partnering with Wilson Rides to provide volunteers to provide transportation for our aging population for such things as doctor and veterinarian appointments, shopping/errands, and church.
