Outreach Update: Week of May 11, 2020

Providence Church continues to serve God and neighbors in safe ways. Here are some of the ways we continue to fulfill our vision to see those who are disconnected find hope, healing and wholeness in Jesus Christ.

  • Providing backpack food and food boxes to families in need. We are partnered with the Wilson County Schools Resource Center, Lebanon Special School District, and our three partner schools– Rutland Elementary School, West Wilson Middle School, and Mt. Juliet Middle School–to make sure our neighbors are fed.
    • Additionally, next week volunteers working in our various food ministries will board the school busses that we helped convert into rolling food pantries/educational outposts. Following social distancing guidelines, these buses will provide food for community members who are food-insecure.
  • Serving on Recover Wilson's Long Term Recovery Relief Team. If you or someone you know has been affected by Coronavirus or the recent storms, please visit www.recoverwilson.com for a list of available resources and a phone number to be connected to a case manager for further assistance.
  • Maintaining close contact with our partners in Clinton, OK, Haiti, and Nicaragua. Everyone is safe and well. And while we'll be unable to be with our Clinton, OK friends in-person this summer for our annual mission trip, we're brainstorming ways to connect virtually.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for additional opportunities to connect and serve our ministry partners that we love so dearly!
