We're walking into a Christmas season that won’t resemble past Christmases. But, this is familiar to the church. When we look at the first Christmas story we find similar elements, feelings, and experiences that we’ve encountered this year. The greatest of these being a longing for God to show up. Each week we’ll focus on the Advent theme – Hope, Peace, Joy, Love – and we’ll see how Jesus brings something that no other can bring. And during Christmas we always sit in wonder at how God chose to do it. In a manger, with a baby, with very little fanfare. But, that moment brought hope, peace, joy, and love for those the baby encountered and for all who ever encounter this baby.
