Fixing Our Eyes on Easter Blessings

The stone has been rolled away and the tomb has been found empty! Let the celebration begin! Look around, what do you see? Though you may not see a lot of celebration right this moment, if we all focus our eyes on Jesus, there is every reason in the world to have confidence and celebrate our hope of a better day.

Could it be that in 2020, God is bringing us to a place where we see more clearly the things that last forever? As parents, we say that faith and love are priorities for our families. That's perfect 20/20 vision! But then comes everyday life, endless to-do lists, and the stress of "doing it all." Ball games and social gatherings. Dance recitals and spring concerts. School festivities and awards ceremonies. In order to do it all, we divide and conquer with “you go here and I’ll go there,” or “I’ll go there after I am finished here.” Our vision for family priorities can become fuzzy over time.

Sheltering at home gives us the opportunity to strengthen family bonds, encourage each other in hope, grow with each other in faith, and unite together in love. Could this be a prescription to correct our family vision and return to the greatest of Easter blessings: faith, hope, and love? Could this be God at work?

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

ProvKIDS invites you to try two activities as a family this week. Below you will find a scavenger hunt for your family focusing on what your eyes can see and on giving God gratitude for those blessings. We then challenge your family to create your own! You can make tallies on a chart when your family “sees” faith, hope, and love portrayed in your home and world. Or you can make a bingo type board with faith, hope, and love written in the boxes for you to check off. If you aren't already, please follow us on Facebook (@provKIDS) and Instagram (@prov_kids) for weekly stories and activities!
