Everyone’s Wilson kicks off with National Day of Prayer gathering

Last Wednesday a National Day of Prayer gathering took place in Charlie Daniels Park. This gathering served as the incredible kickoff of Everyone's Wilson, which stemmed out of the vision God provided for churches across our area to join together for the good of every person in Wilson County. Over the past year, denominational lines and other barriers that would have made such a thing impossible, have been set aside to see the realization and rallying around four major initiatives begin to take shape:
  1. Everyone Fed: Hunger and food insecurity affects over 25% of our county’s residents.
  2. Everyone Free: Alcohol and drug addiction cripples individuals and families.
  3. Everyone Safe: Teen violence, domestic abuse, human trafficking are on the rise; First-responders are heroes.
  4. Everyone Ready: Education is vital to the flourishing of individuals and communities.
This gathering saw God show up in a huge way! Even rain couldn't dampen God's Spirit as more than 1,000 people joined together in prayer, worship, hope, food, and fellowship. Throughout the evening pastors across the county prayed specific prayers and provided messages centered around the four initiatives, our community, teachers, emergency responders, city officials, and more. And let's not forget about the worship as a combined band made up of some of the best musicians from across the county. Thank you for your attendance and support at last week's event. Your response as well as the response of other area churches, city and community leaders, school personnel, and others has been tremendous. This is just the beginning to a great journey God has placed us on to make Wilson County an even greater place to live, raise families, work, and call home.
