Becoming an acolyte is a fantastic way for children to serve at Providence.
Since ancient times light has reminded people that God is with us. When your child serves as an acolyte, they will help lead worship by carrying light into, and out of, service and assist with serving communion. This humble task is a symbol that reminds the congregation that God is there with us and goes out into the world with us.
We would love to have your 3rd-5th grader consider serving once-a-month or more. Training will be provided and your child will have the opportunity to shadow an experienced acolyte until they feel comfortable doing so themselves.
