During the first quarter of 2016, we will move in to our new building. There, we will have the opportunity, like never before, to bring hope, healing, and wholeness to the people that God leads us to. We hope that you will join us as we begin to dream of all the things that could happen in this new place we will call “home.” We hope you will take time to explore this journey below and pray a simple prayer…
“Lord, what do you want to do through me?”

There are many ways to contribute to the What If campaign!
GIVE OUT OF INCOME. When most people think of giving to the church, this is what they mean. Giving out of your income is the most simple, straightforward way. But few of us have extra money at the end of the month just waiting to be spent. Fortunately, giving a percentage of your income is not the only way. . .
GIVE ASSETS. This may be the best way to give creatively – and one few people know about. Stocks, bonds, and other securities purchased years ago have often appreciated in value since then. Did you know you can give that asset to the church, avoid paying capital gains tax, and still get a fair market value deduction based on its current value?
GIVE “STUFF”. You move it, you store it, you insure it, and dust it. Why not sell it instead? Collectibles (stamps, baseball cards, memorabilia, coins), valuable heirlooms, and antiques (jewelry, furniture, china, silver, musical instruments) can be sold and auctioned and the proceeds given to the church.
GIVE BY SACRIFICE. David in the Bible said, “That which costs me nothing is not a sacrifice.” (2 Samuel 24.24) Another way to give creatively is to consider giving up something you might otherwise buy without a second thought, such as a fast-food or a cup of gourmet coffee. Did you know the average family eats out 4 times a week? If your family gives up one restaurant meal ($35) per week, that’s over $5,000 during the 3 years of this campaign. If every family at Providence did this, that would add up to an extra $1.5 million!
Every gift, no matter how big or small, when given regularly, can add up to a substantial donation over time. The church office is available to discuss your questions at 615.773.PUMC (7862). All gifts are tax deductible, but specific questions about taxes should be directed to your tax professional.
Typical Commitments You Can Make Over A 156-week Period!
Throughout the “What If” campaign we are going to be praying “Lord, what do you want to do through me?”
